CWG – shame or Success story of India ?

We all are proud of 1982 Delhi Asian games hosted by India, It was a grand success. When India bid for 2010 CWG, we all Indians thought that to be a grand success, but what is happening is way opposite. We wished CWG will bring glory and project a new image of India, image of India shining. Now these games are bringing shame to India on international front. Each day we are hearing the news of more and more famous players pulling out of CWG citing the reasons of security and hygiene and injuries. But everyone knows the truth why they are pulling out of the games.

We are left with only 9 days for games to be inaugurated, this should be the time when everyone should be talking about the national pride of hosting CWG, Medal hopes for India, CWG mascot Shera, our athletes, singing CWG song, but we are covered in the news of corruption, doping, incompetent standards of hygiene and security, shameful statements by Organising Committee officials and Delhi CM Mrs. Sheila Dixit, top athletes pulling out of games. This games has certainly brought shame for India and the cost of this shame is 70,000 crore rupees.

CWG Organising Committee Chairman, Mr. Suresh Kalmadi said that Asian Games Village will be better than Beijing Olympics Games Village, but when the Asian games village is made open for athletes, we saw the shabby hygiene and 16 out of 34 residential towers still not ready. and to add more to it is the statement of Lalit Bhanot “their standards of Hygiene are different than our (Indians) standards” which basically suggests that Indians are not hygienic.

As a patriotic Indian, I am very much hurt by these news, but deep inside, i also try to figure out what went wrong. How the games of national pride becomes the national shame ?

Two days back, I was watching a programme on NDTV, where Ms. Kiran Bedi tells some of the difference between the grand success of 1982 Asian Games and 2010 CWG. She says there was an active indulgence of Rajiv Gandhi and govt, and every work was unequivocally defined and allotted. Organising Committee worked seriously to complete everything on time.

Apart from it, People were integrated in the games, every Indian shared their pride in Asian games, Asian Games Mascot Appu was not only in delhi, but in every part of india (unfortunately, CWG mascot Shera is not known much outside delhi)

Theme song of any event is the major integrating force for the entire nation. But the CWG theme song composed (very late) by maestro A. R. Rahman does not show the real Indian musical heritage and also, on that some people are making controversies, which left no time for the promotion of CWG, which may have brought a positive wave in hearts of every Indian. Unfortunately that has not happened.

With only 9 days to go, I can hope that no more negative news comes forward and everything is sorted out whether Security issue, Hygiene issue or any other issue hampering in games. For all these, we need some strict and active indulgence from our leaders who can make everyone pull up there socks, and finish the time in time. ( “Juggad” is not the solution) There is some involvement by PM Dr. Manmohan Singh to fix the things, which I wish should increase until the games are finished.

Apart from all these things, the biggest initiative required is “we”. If we do whatever we should do to project a better India, and to show the world that India is capable of hosting major events also.

I wish CWG will be success story for India, not a shameful story

This post is dedicated to all those non-violent volunteers who worked courageously for helping Palestinians.

I may sound more of a social Activist.

I am feeling incompetent, after Attack on Gaza Flotilla and its aftermath I posted some links and text on my facebook account to gather some empathy for Palestine and to ensure Israeli forces are deprived of impunity they enjoy every time they make a mockery of International Laws…….

But nobody around me is interested in all this boring stuff……..who cares…….

Thanks to Media, Israel and Barrack Obama, What an irony that Barrack Obama has been awarded Nobel Peace Prize and his latest moves regarding one-time dis-agreement on Israeli settlement policy in Jerusalem, nuclear-free Middle-East, indirect Peace Talks, are showing yes he deserved it……..

But I don`t think he truely deserved it. He should openly condemn the actions of Israel rather then saying whats happened was unfortunate. U.S is thinking of imposing sanctions on Iran but what its about friend Israel. I will not be incorrect if I say “U.S is inflicting a proxy war in Palestine by giving incessant financial aid to Israel”. If all U.S aid is calculated, more than half is given to Israel to strengthen its arsenal. U.S is dreaming of Nuclear free Middle-East but What about Israel`s war-crimes without nuclear weapons……

U.S never intervenes substantially in Israel`s policy of transforming Gaza into a 21st Century Concentration Camp by imposing Economic blockade on Gaza. Hamas may be a Terrorist organization but whole Gaza is not Hamas and whole Hamas is not terrorist either. But economic blockade on Gaza may make it true someday. Israel is making future terrorists, if Palestinians people are oppressed ,subject to such inhumane treatment and deprived of education continuously, then they make take weapons in their hands. I can cite an example of same, A Palestinian Electrical Engineer named Yahiya Ahiyash, who wanted to go Jordan to study further but his dreams were cuts cut-short by Israel. He later ended up in clutches of terrorism and he instrumented a dozens of bomb attacks in Israel in 1994-95. Before he was killed by Israel, he became most notorious terrorist in Israeli Hit List. what if he was allowed to study further…………

And a great thanks to American Media………

American Media is a biased media with most of the Media projected the Gaza Flotilla Massacre as if both parties were equally responsible, may be volunteers more, Israeli Commando fires in their defense. And also American Media reported far less number than the actual count. American media reports were highly different from other International Media reported.

Whatever Israeli PM Mr. Benyamin Netanyahu says “it was done in defense and is unfortunate” but the reality is it was a yet another heinous operation by  commandos. What if police starts firing, every time protests happen…….

Palestinians have started gathering support all-around the world. This incident sparked outrage among people and many protest were held in front of Israeli Embassy in different countries . Even in India, Committe for solidarity with Palestine  along with Communist Party protested in New Delhi. But still no Indian Govt statement was issued.

A very few people were demostrating their protests , whatabout others…..

where is the outcry of Indian people……………

why is Indian People so ignorant about truth……..

Indians should protest against Israel`s subjugative actions on palestine………

what once happened to jews, Israel is doing the same to palestine……..

Palestine is a 21st Century concentration camp under the occupation of Israeli Armed Forces…

India is the largest buyer of Israeli weapons with weapons deal crossing billions of dollars, indirectly we are paying for their massacres……

India has friendly relations but that does not mean India should not condemn any illegal actions of Israel. Indian Government should clearly (not diplomatically) condemn the actions of Israel. If Indians show mass agitations then  Govt. may put some pressure on Israel, that will definitely make a difference. If all countries start showing their protests over their palestine policy, Israel will definitely feel the heat and will take some substantial measures for palestine.

I request you all….. you have the power, so use it…., show your outrage and protest against inhuman treatment of Palestinian people in the hands of Israel.

Encourage and aware all your friends, family members and all whom you can convince about the reality of Israel and convince them to practice non-cooperation against Israeli`s goods and state of Israel.
